Deep Archive

I have been creating artwork now since my early schooldays and over the years, through thick and thin, have built up a sizeable body of work. I started drawing early although materials were hard to come by. I have  very little evidence of any of the work I produced at Primary or Grammar School other than the examples below. At Grammar School my art teacher Mr Carter took me to Life Drawing classes at the local Dover Art School when I was a 3rd year pupil (now year 9). These were important and formative lessons that instilled in me the importance of careful observation and drawing techniques. These underpin all of my subsequent practice and development. This led to me choosing to go to Art College, so with an A level under my belt but not much else I went up to Wolverhampton in September 1968.
